About

Email was never meant to be this.

Sodaroad started as a question: what would email look like if it were designed today, and still had to work with everyone who has not switched?

Every attempt to replace email has failed for the same reason: email is the only network everyone is already on. Chat apps won inside companies by giving up on the outside world, and now most people have two inboxes and a Slack.

Our bet is a layer, not a wall. A Sodaroad address is an email address, so anyone can reach it. But when two Sodaroad addresses talk, the message never leaves our network, and so it can carry things email cannot: a verified sender, a poll that tallies in the thread, a file whose key can be destroyed, a message that can actually be unsent. Every feature has to have a graceful email reading, or it does not ship.

Then we put agents on top. Not one assistant that wants to be your inbox, but agents you configure and assign to lanes of your mail, with permissions, budgets and a run log you can read. They do the boring half and show their work.

How we run it

Bootstrapped. No ads, ever. No training on your mail. Agent compute billed at cost, so we make money when the inbox is worth paying for and not when an agent burns tokens. Everything we store is encrypted before it reaches the database, and leaving takes one click.
