Conversations, not threads
A chat with members and a lifecycle. Add someone without Sodaroad and they take part by email from their own inbox.
Sodaroad is a place to talk that speaks email. Real conversations with the people you know, an inbox at your own address, and agents that do the boring half and show their work.
Free to talk. Your address is the account, so you do not need an email somewhere else to start.
Trusted by teams at
Between two Sodaroad addresses a message is a message: verified sender, polls that tally in the thread, unsend that works. Everyone else gets a clean email.
Assign an agent to a channel of your mail. It triages, drafts and files under the permissions you gave it, and every run is on the record.
Encrypted at rest, no ads, no training on your mail, and leaving takes one click. The thing being sold is the product.
What you get
Each of these works between Sodaroad addresses, and degrades to a normal email for everyone else. Nobody is left out and nothing arrives broken.
A chat with members and a lifecycle. Add someone without Sodaroad and they take part by email from their own inbox.
Seven permissions, a budget, an on-limit rule. The run log is the product, not a hidden setting.
Between Sodaroad addresses a message can genuinely be withdrawn, and a file's key destroyed with it. Not “please ignore my last email”.
A Sodaroad address is a verified identity. Nobody can pretend to be your accountant, which is not true of any email you have ever received.
Up to 50 MB, encrypted in your browser before they reach storage. Delivered directly between Sodaroad addresses, no provider in between.
One inbox, four surfaces
Switch between them below. Everything you see is the product as it ships today.
Start a chat with anyone. Members on Sodaroad get the real thing; members on email get a clean message and reply from their inbox. One thread, two readings.
you@sodaroad.com receives through our own mail exchange and sends with a delivery ladder you can watch. Bring Gmail if you want your old mail here too.
Give an agent a purpose, a skill file, a budget and a set of permissions, then drag it onto a channel. It works the lane; you see every run and approve every send.
Describe a rule in plain words and Sodaroad drafts it. From then on it runs the same way on every message, and each message lands in exactly one channel.

From people using it
“I stopped forwarding things to Slack. The people I work with are on Sodaroad, the ones who aren't get a normal email, and it is all one thread.”
Priya Raman

“The billing agent answers invoice questions before I have read them. It shows me the draft, I hit approve, and that is my whole morning now.”
Daniel Okafor
Founder, Fieldstone
“Every other AI email tool wanted to be my inbox. Sodaroad is the first one that felt like it was mine.”

Trust
Sodaroad handles the most personal data most people have. The controls are written down, and the disclosure policy is public.
Bodies, previews, attachments and tokens are AES-256-GCM ciphertext before they reach the database, with keys that never live beside the data.
We ask Google for read, send and read-only contacts. That is the whole list, it is published, and changing it would restart a third-party security assessment.
Export everything as JSON, decrypted. Delete your account and the mail goes with it, immediately, with no thirty-day tease.

What changed, by date. Every line is a commit you can find.
A first-run tourNew
Four steps you click through once. Backed by your account, not your browser, so it never comes back on a second device.
An empty inbox is allowed to be emptyImproved
A brand-new account no longer sees placeholder mail. What it sees is the truth, and a way to change it.
Annual billingNew
Two months free on a yearly plan, and the credit grant now follows exactly what the invoice collected.
One-time codes on the rowNew
A verification code arriving at your Sodaroad address shows on the inbox row with a Copy button for fifteen minutes.
From the blog
Every attempt to replace email has failed for the same reason. The fix is a layer on top that speaks email fluently and only gets better between people who both have it.
An agent that sends mail under your name is an exfiltration path unless it is built like one. Here is the permission model behind Sodaroad's agents.
Signing up somewhere with an email address costs six steps. Most of them are fetching the code. We lifted it onto the inbox row, and here is why the extractor refuses so much.
FAQ
Sodaroad is an inbox with a chat layer and agents built in. You claim an address like you@sodaroad.com, talk to other Sodaroad users in real conversations, email everyone else, and assign agents to channels of your mail to triage, draft and reply with your approval.
No. A Sodaroad address works on its own, and you can connect Gmail so your existing mail lands in the same place. Sodaroad reads and sends through Gmail's API; nothing is moved or copied anywhere it does not belong, and you can disconnect at any time.
An agent is assigned to one or more channels of your mail. It reads what arrives there, drafts the reply you were going to write, files what should be filed, and shows you every run. Nothing goes out under your name without your approval unless you explicitly grant that permission.
Chat, mail, channels and sorting are free. Paid plans start at $10 a month and buy agent compute at cost: a dollar of plan is a dollar of model usage, and the ledger shows every cent.
Yes. Message bodies, previews, attachments and OAuth tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they reach the database, with keys that never live alongside the data. Sodaroad does not train models on your mail and does not sell or share it.
Yes. Anyone with an email address can email your Sodaroad address, and anyone you add to a chat takes part by email from their own inbox. They see a clean email; you see a conversation.
Free to talk. Your address is the account, and there is nothing to install.
