FAQ

Questions, answered.

How do I get a Sodaroad address?

Go to the homepage, type the name you want, pick a domain and set a password. Your address is your account; you do not need an email somewhere else to start.

How do I connect Gmail?

Open Settings, choose Identities, then Connect Gmail. Google asks for permission to read and send your mail; Sodaroad asks for nothing else. You can disconnect from the same page.

How do channels decide where mail goes?

Each channel has an ordered list of rules. When mail arrives, the rules run in order and the first channel whose rule matches wins, so a message is always in exactly one channel. You can describe a rule in plain words and Sodaroad drafts it for you.

How do I put an agent on a channel?

Open Agents, create or pick an agent, and drag it onto the channel's agent bar. Set its purpose, permissions and budget on the agent's page. Every run appears in the activity tray.

What does unsend do?

Between two Sodaroad addresses, a message can be withdrawn after it is sent and any file it carried has its key destroyed. For a message that already went out by email to someone outside Sodaroad, unsend is not possible, and the app says so before you rely on it.

How do I export or delete my data?

Settings, then Account, then Export your data gives you a JSON file with everything decrypted. Delete account removes everything immediately, with no waiting period. The full list of what is kept and removed is on the Managing and deleting your data page.

How do I reset my password?

Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. A code is sent to the phone number on your account; a number that was never confirmed cannot reset anything.

Where do one-time codes go?

A verification code that arrives at your Sodaroad address is lifted onto the message row with a Copy button for fifteen minutes, so you never open the email to find it.
